Our Arts at Home Programme provides them with therapeutic sessions of arts and crafts, drama, dance and music at home, and sometimes in hospital, delivered by a qualified teacher or therapist. The children create, get messy and express their feelings.
We also run sibling art sessions where siblings of the seriously ill children get to create pieces and have the opportunity to get creative.
During that hour each week with Belinda, Abi is calm, happy and chatty – in contrast to her normal day to day. But more than that, despite having compromised sight, Abi paints some wonderful pieces and these achievements have helped her to rebuild some of her confidence, shattered in the last few years.
