Residential retreats

A range of specially-programmed activities are organised for both the children and the parents.

Three days full of fun, relaxation and support in beautiful surroundings, can boost a family for months giving them strength, to face the challenges ahead

Family Retreat

Each year we offer families a precious few days away together, full of fun and relaxation with all of their medical needs catered for.

A range of specially programmed activities are organised for both the children and the parents, from helicopter rides, private zoos and circus shows, to ‘dinner for two’ for parents only. All meals are strictly kosher and there is a doctor on site at all times.

As well as Camp Simcha staff, each child has a trained Big Brother or Sister volunteer taking care of them and ensuring that they have an unforgettable time while parents relax and recharge.

Retreat provides Camp Simcha parents with a rare opportunity to spend quality time with each other and their children, whilst meeting and speaking to other parents in similar situations to themselves.

Children’s Retreat

This special weekend away organised for children with serious and life-changing medical conditions, gives them a chance to socialise with other children in similar circumstances, while providing much needed respite for their parents.

The children come without their parents for an exciting programme of activities, run over three days, catered to each child’s specific and complex needs. As well as a doctor on site, Big Brother and Sister volunteers join Camp Simcha staff and team of qualified carers to ensure the children have the most amazing time.

Sibling Retreat

Sibling retreat offers brothers and sisters of seriously ill children we support, a break from the pressures of home.

The three-day residential gives the children an opportunity to be with others who understand their situation – enjoying a packed schedule of activities that are all about them, combining fun with team building and opportunities to share.

Retreat gave Josh the energy and positive outlook to attend school for a full day today. This is the first time this has happened all year. You gave us something so precious, and that is family time. This, in turn, brings an even rarer commodity for families like us … a sense of normality. Our son’s procedures and hospital admissions are all over the country so we are frequently away. The other children hate that they miss out on time with us. Retreat is a great time for us to be together as a family
