For parents who have a seriously ill child, the pressure, stress and worry they are coping with is enormous. At times it may feel like more than they can bear.
Camp Simcha makes a vital difference to parents in this situation by providing over 23 practical, therapeutic and emotional support services free of charge, to ensure all Jewish families who need us, throughout the whole community, feel supported, in whatever ways they need, for as long as they need. Each family is assigned a Family Liaison Officer who will help them in a bespoke and caring way to navigate their often difficult journey.
The Rind Foundation Support Programme for Parents
Within our dedicated services for parents, Camp Simcha provides informal respite and restorative care as part of The Rind Foundation Support Programme for Parents. We facilitate a range of therapeutic activities designed to provide opportunities for parents to have a break and benefit from uplifting experiences and peer support events. These include our annual Mum’s Spa Day, Parent Coffee Mornings and Dinner for Two nights.

In my life, I have always been able to solve problems. I have climbed mountains at work and been very successful. When the doctor told us that my child may not live, no matter how many second opinions we got, I had to come to terms with the fact that at the end of the day my beautiful three-year-old daughter’s life was in other people’s hands. I cannot tell you how stressful that was for me- Camp Simcha helped me cope with that pain like nobody else could.
