We’re really excited to announce that Sharon and Jonathan Goldstein have agreed to serve as the first presidents of the charity.

Sharon and Jonathan have been involved with Camp Simcha, which supports Jewish families coping with serious and life-threatening childhood illnesses, for over a decade. They were the charity’s Dinner Chairs in 2009, with Jonathan becoming a trustee and Sharon who is a GP, joining its medical advisory committee shortly thereafter.

Jonathan, who is chief executive and founder of Cain International, a real estate investment company, was elected Chair of the Jewish Leadership Council in May this year.

Together they have been active in and supportive of numerous Jewish communal organisations.

Jonathan said: “Sharon and I are deeply honoured to take on this role. Over our years of involvement with Camp Simcha, it has gone from strength to strength providing essential support of the highest quality to children suffering from serious or life-threatening illnesses, as well as their families. It is a privilege to support Camp Simcha’s outstanding work and we look forward to doing so for many years to come.”

Sharon added: “Camp Simcha helps so many families and children coping with a wide range of illnesses. The professionalism, dedication and devotion of its outstanding services team allow it to come to the aid of countless families across the UK in their hour of need. We are delighted to continue supporting them in this mission.”

Camp Simcha Chairman Julian Taylor said: “We are thrilled that Sharon and Jonathan are continuing their support of Camp Simcha by taking on this important role. Their dedication and efforts will be instrumental in continuing to raise Camp Simcha’s profile and their guidance on the charity’s strategic direction will shape the way in which we continue our vital work reaching and supporting even more families who need us.”
