In 2014, Samuel, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 4 and was treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital. We had the privilege of supporting him.
His mum Charlie said: “When Samuel was diagnosed, our whole world fell apart. We were thrown into a world we’d never wanted to be in..the scary, unfamiliar world of hospitals and treatment and we were totally devastated and unprepared.”
Thankfully he finished treatment in 2018, and inspired by his experience, Samuel’s family worked with Camp Simcha to launch ‘The Care Necessities’. – a practical care package for those who have been admitted into Great Ormond Street Hospital for urgent cancer treatment.
Mazel Tov!
Samuel will be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah in June and wanted to do something memorable and different to raise money for the Care Necessities project.
During his stay at Great Ormond Street, he learnt magic tricks which to this day, he still enjoys and inspired him to come up with the idea for his Bar Mitzvah fundraiser. He decided that by adding a box of magic tricks into each Care Necessities package, children, just like him who have been admitted into Great Ormond Street, will be able to enjoy magic too and he’s been busy fundraising towards this idea to make it happen.
We are very grateful to Marvin’s Magic for donating the magic sets.
