Schools support

Schools support bannerWe provide support for school staff dealing with siblings or friends of a child who becomes ill or passes away.

Camp Simcha have recently partnered with The Treehouse at Number 9.

As well as coping with the daily challenges, ill children face the difficulty that other children do not understand that they may look or act differently.  Treehouse at Number 9 is a musical ebook and resource website which focuses on a team of friends called The Genies, a group of ordinary heroes who happen to have some differences.

We have been delivering a schools project together with the team at Treehouse at Number 9, using the power of story to celebrate and create understanding about differences amongst children.

The session runs for about 50 minutes. It starts with reading the Treehouse book as a whole class then the children are split into different groups. They have the opportunity to discuss one of the characters through reading a diary extract of that character. They then write down the characters challenges, ways in which they can help and their strengths.
The session ends of with exploring their different findings and recognising that we are a ‘little bit different from our toes up to eyelids!’
